New Term Radar is a Chrome extension that finds new AI product names on Product Hunt, Hugging Face, GitHub, Google Trends, X and Reddit. This policy explains what the extension reads, where it stores it, and where it sends it.

Summary

What the extension reads

When you start a scan or a search (or when you turn on automatic scans), the extension reads public content from these sites, using your own browser session where you are signed in:

It reads posts, titles, author handles, scores (likes, stars, votes) and links. It does not read your private messages, your account details, your passwords or your cookies' values, and it does not post, like or follow anything on your behalf.

Where data is stored

All results (posts, new terms, scan history, review results) and your settings are stored locally in your browser. You can export them or clear them at any time under Settings → Data. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.

What is sent to third parties

If you enter an AI provider in Settings → AI (an OpenAI-compatible endpoint such as DeepSeek or OpenAI, with your own API key), the extension sends candidate names and short snippets of the posts they came from to that endpoint, to score whether each name is a product and to write short summaries. That request goes directly from your browser to the provider you chose, and is governed by that provider's privacy policy. If you do not configure an AI provider, nothing is sent anywhere.
